It's never easy and never will it be. Anything that comes easily is at risk of fading away easily too. That phase you are in is where you are supposed to be for now...I know you might say that it is a phase where you are experiencing all kind of unpleasant things: sorrow; disgrace; emotional breakdown; financial instability; hate; loneliness; rejection; job loss and all. But everything has an end, right? Even the darkness has to pave way for the light when the time comes. This then means that there is a season for everything - IT IS JUST A MATTER OF TIME.
Personally I have been in seasons where I have experienced different kinds of bad things for lack of a better word. But the worst thing about people believing in you and knowing you are strong is that they may not notice or rather believe you when you are breaking down - it's one of my worst moments. You cry and break alone when everyone else is having a life. That smile and laugh with friends can be so deceiving because they will always believe you are a happy soul with no problems. And instead of pouring your heart to them and have to explain it you end up crying yourself to sleep.
I saw one of my friends, one Michael Bundi, the other day ask on his update that 'If a friend comes to you and asks 'ARE YOU OKAY?' and deep down you are not okay what do you usually say?'. I genuinely said that 'it depends with who is asking' - my reason being is that less people/friends care about how you feel or what you are going through. Say you are in a state where you need emotional or financial help and you have previously been an encounter with someone you know very well can't come through, what is the need of saying you are not okay? Deep down knowing that even if you say you are not okay they won't help anyway? Why waste the energy? Personally, it's something I struggle with - if I know you will not come through for me I will definitely say I am okay. Then Bundi told me - AS HUMANS WE ALL NEED TO REALLY UNDERSTAND THE MEANING BEHIND THE QUESTION 'Are you okay?'. This way it will be easier for each and everyone to express themselves without fear of being judged.
But we can never be all at the same page and that's what makes us unequal - we can't all be good and caring people. So what do we do? How many people in your contact or friends list can come through for you? Be it emotionally, spiritually, financially? Just re-evaluate and know your real ones. I'm not saying you desert the rest but it will be for your own sanity. If you have to begin all over again for whatever it is just do it - it is not a crime and remember no one cares. They say that when you fall don't stay there, pick yourself up and move even if you have to crawl - but I will say it is not a crime to stay there: let's just normalize being real. Pick yourself up when you are ready to move! Do not bow to any pressure! Do what you got to do to stay sane and at peace.
Never be so hard on yourself for whatever you are going through. Be good because the only person that got you is YOU. Be your first priority. Pray and trust in God always. Make positive affirmations everyday. Talk to people that make you feel better. Stay positive.
Distance yourself from people/things that make you feel like you don't matter| Put you down|. Take a quick look around you and see the people you associate with. After all, life is meant to be fun and lived well since we only got one although we live through everyday - live everyday like it is your last. Love those who love you and never over reciprocate anything - you can only give what you receive. But also remember that it doesn't cost a thing to be good to one another - we all battling different demons and being kind to one another would go a long way.
As we start the week and this new month I pray that God will remember you and fulfill your heart desires. May you prosper in all your good endeavours. May He cause His face to shine on you always. May your steps be guided. And may you always live to see another day. I wish you happiness and peace.
